What we Know

This kid is used to being outside all the time. His skin is so tan. He's also full of scars - not the nefarious kind, but the kind you get from playing hard. And he's filthy. We managed one quick bath, but his fingernails are caked with dirt.

His language is good. He uses mostly four word utterances when we are playing, but sometimes he uses 8 or more (I have no idea what he is saying). A few days ago he told the guide, "I put the rubbish in the back of the truck" and "I saw lots of cars last night."

His voice is the cutest thing ever. It's so high coming out of this sturdy little guy. I mentioned that he's not in 3ts yet, but he's WAY bigger than the other little kids who were adopted this week in this province who are the same age.

He's very much a snuggler, but also is still in the hitting stage. He has almost no attention span. I don't think he's ever seen a book.

His cleft scar is worse than it looks in pictures. He also has a major underbite, and underdeveloped upper jaw (like his baba). His palate looks really good. He also has all his teeth, but one of them isn't quite in the right spot. The back of his head is flat from laying on it in the orphanage. That makes me sad.

He's very happy, even though this is tough on him. His laugh is awesome - he likes to throw his head back and just laugh and laugh. But our favorite thing is when he sees something interesting - his eves get huge with interest. It is really cute.

  1. excellent news about the language! You will be surprised at how fast they pick up English. He might have to help baba haul cut down trees to burn up some of that energy. Maybe he can use his gun to cut them down. LOL! Love the pictures!
