Gotcha Day

Sorry for a day without posting. We were kinda busy. :). We got Brady yesterday afternoon. It was a tough night. He misses his Nai Nai and Ye Ye very much. After crying most of the night, he did take a break to eat a healthy dinner of fruit snacks out of the shovel of his truck. At bedtime Brad crawled into bed and called for him and he snuggled up right next to him and fell asleep for the night.

He has created his own little spot in our room. He has a chair pulled up to the window where he can look out on the traffic below. He used it yesterday to search for Nai Nai and Ye Ye, but today I think it's just his comfort zone. When he feels sad he gets Brad and has him hold him over there.

He's not into TV or electronics. He's a car and truck guy. And guns. Today he turned the weight pins from the workout machines downstairs into guns. He loves the busses we see every day.

Today has been an easier day for him. He's sad but has been able to play with us all day. At noon he ate a huge amount of fried rice. Right now he's eating some sort of meat sausage thing that his foster grandparents sent with him.

Our adoption was this morning. It was very unceremonious. We were asked some basic questions, signed some papers, and that was it. The biggest ordeal was trying to get him to make a hand print on the paperwork.

He's got a cold right now and has a very runny nose. He is also way too small for the 3T clothes we brought. But he's big compared to the other three year olds we are seeing here.

You wouldn't recognize Brad if you saw him now though. He went to the adoption this morning with pee on his shirt, snot all over his collar and yogurt down his pants leg. And it didn't faze him one bit. Right now he's upstairs in bed with Brady and I'm down in the lobby on the computer-talk about a switch!

Tomorrow we visit the orphanage in the morning. Thursday we go to the Jicci Temple and also to Brady's finding spot (the safe place his birth mother left him so he would be found). He was found three years ago today.

Enjoy a few pics...
