Bethel is still in the city, but is about an hour and a half from here. It took the first half hour just to go the first few miles. We got to see a lot of the countryside, including some dicey minutes in a village with mud roads and chickens.
We got a great tour of Bethel from their nurse. We got to see the classrooms, the houses, and the farm. They grow their own crops to sell on every available piece of land. We also got to say Ni Hao to all the kids as they came back from their naps.
After the ride back, my stomach ache magically disappeared. We went out and walked the shopping area by our hotel and went out to dinner. I was so excited to actually eat something even if it was just noodles out of my bowl of soup.
Now we are back in the room packing for our flight to Ta!yuan in the morning. And we think we get stared at a lot here- just wait till we go to that city which sees very few tourists (and we're sportin' a Ch!n@se kid with us).
